چکیده

Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) have received great attention for deep water energy harvesting. So far, research has been focused on a single floating rotor. However, final deployment of FOWT farms, interactions multiple FOWTs and potential impacts the motion power performance wake rotors need to be investigated. In this study, we employ CFD coupled with an Actuator Disc model analyze two tandem scenario, where upstream rotor is prescribed surge downstream fixed influenced by variations in incoming flow created oscillating surging We will investigate three different amplitudes fluctuations as well their interactions. The results show light increase mean coefficient both case, compared against case no motion. standard deviation transient CP linearly scales amplitude, while such impact very limited. Surging found enhance mixing wake, which therefore, accelerates recovery This finding suggests prospects into redesigning farm layout FOWTs, aiming more compact arrangements.

CFD Modeling of the wake interactions of two wind turbines on a Gaussian hill

One part of the solution to the problem of climate change is the use of wind energy for electricity generation. Onshore wind farms usually consist of a number of horizontal axis wind turbines closely spaced in clusters and they are often sited on complex terrain. Various models have been developed in the past to estimate the wake effects and optimize the siting of a wind farm, but they were mai...

Performance analysis of individual blade pitch control of offshore wind turbines on two floating platforms

Individual blade pitch state space (IBP SS) control and disturbance accommodating control (DAC) that reject wind speed perturbations are applied on a 5 MW wind turbine mounted on the barge and tension leg floating platforms for performance comparison in above rated wind speed region. The DAC used in this study is simply an IBP SS controller with a wind speed disturbance rejection component. For...

SHM of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines— Challenges and First Solutions

The paper presents an integrated SHM-system for floater, moorings, tower, nacelle and rotor blades. Its core is based on a multivariate SHM-system for rotor blades with three different measuring techniques accompanied by appropriate signal processing approaches:  Acoustic Emission (AE) is used for identification of relative small damages at the whole blade, e.g. bursts of fibres, cracks of bon...

On the Modeling of Spar-type Floating Offshore Wind Turbines

In this paper an overview about floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) including operating conditions, property and applicability of the barge, tension-leg, and spar floating platforms is described. The spar-floating offshore wind turbines (S-FOWT) have advantages in deepwater and their preliminary design, numerical modeling tools and integrated modeling are reviewed. Important conclusions abou...

Unsteady aerodynamic analysis for offshore floating wind turbines under different wind conditions.

A free-vortex wake (FVW) model is developed in this paper to analyse the unsteady aerodynamic performance of offshore floating wind turbines. A time-marching algorithm of third-order accuracy is applied in the FVW model. Owing to the complex floating platform motions, the blade inflow conditions and the positions of initial points of vortex filaments, which are different from the fixed wind tur...
